A criminal attempt, defined by S.1(1) of the criminal attempts act 1981 is committing an act that is more than prepatory to committing the full offence.
R v Campbell stated that staying outside the building where the offence will occur, is NOT more than prepatory.
The case of Jones states that getting into a car is more than prepatory.
Intention for attempts will be considered for the full offence
The sentence for committing an offence would be the maximum for if the full offence were to be committed.
