ATTEMPTS

• A criminal attempt, defined by S.1(1) of the criminal attempts act 1981 is committing an act that is more than prepatory to committing the full offence.
• R v Campbell stated that staying outside the building where the offence will occur, is NOT more than prepatory.
• The case of Jones states that getting into a car is more than prepatory.
• Intention for attempts will be considered for the full offence
• The sentence for committing an offence would be the maximum for if the full offence were to be committed.
