How do enzymes work?

• every enzyme has an active site
• The active site has a unique shape that binds onto the substrate
• If the substrate dosent fit the enzyme's active site then the reaction wont be catalysed
• Sometimes the enzyme changes its active site slightly so the substrate can fit this is called an 'induced fit'
