  • All the churchmen who fled England were returned to their offices and their property returned
  • John paid £8000 as an immediate compensation to the pope and £27000 in total
  • If John broke the agreement, he would lose his right to appoint people to Church offices forever
  • He promised an annual payment of 1000 marks to the papacy
  • The interdict was lifted by Stephen Langton in July 1213
