Cell membrane

• The parts of a cell membrane are phospholipid bilayer, protein, transport proteins, phospholipid, cholestral, carbonhydrate chain.
• The term fluid mosaic is used to describe the nature of membrane in cells.
• The cell membrane is also known as a selectively permeable or a semipermeable membrane.
• Selectively permeable means it only lets certain things in.
• The cell membrane has the ability to let some substances pass through easier than others.
• Some materials are unable to enter the cell at all because of the selectively permeable membrane
• Only small uncharged molecules can easily enter the cell membrane.
