    ➔ They are held to collect information, share ideas, make decisions, and formulate plans to solve problems
    ➔ Follows a systematic order
  • DEMONSTRATIONS
    ➔ It is a step-by-step procedure that is performed to help people learn or acquire new skills.
    ➔ It presents a combination of theoretical teaching and of practical work.
    ➔ It provides opportunities for participants to practice a new skill.
    ➔ Ex. Doing a particular process like taking vital signs or feeding an infant.

  • PLANNING
    • Identify the skill/s that the group need/s to learn.
    • Gather all the necessary materials such as models and real objects or posters and photographs
    • Make sure that the materials to use could be found locally.
    • Secure a venue with adequate space so that everyone could see and practice the skill.
    • Choose the time convenient for everyone
  • PROCEDURES
    • Explain the ideas and skills that you will demonstrate and the need for it.
    • Do the demonstrations: do one step at a time, slowly
    • Make sure that everyone can see what you are doing
    • Give explanations as you go along
    • Encourage discussion either during or at the end of the demonstration
    • Ask them to demonstrate back to you or to explain the steps
    • Review the important steps and key points briefly

    ◆ Engaged with stories that appeal to them because they too experience the same situation in real life
