  • Explain the benefits of handheld devices?

Light and portable so they can easily be carried. Allows movements with the devices since it runs on a battery power.
  • Explain the disadvantages of handheld devices?
Relies on battery power which does not last long. Small storage capacity. Can be lost, damaged or stolen.

Cloud storage frees up physical space for users as the storage is located usually in third parties servers. Allows only authorised users such as staff to work remotely as credentials may be required. Data centres allow online devices to run all hours of the day and the year, making it convenient. Accessible by more than one user.
  • Give the benefits of a fixed device?
Desktops and game consoles have large storage capacities and can be upgraded and expanded to even larger sizes. Desktop computers have the highest processing power of working at home. Desktop computers are very versatile and are powerful enough to be used to for thousands of different purposes.
  • Give the disadvantages of using fixed devices?
Typically more expensive than handheld and portable devices. Heavy and difficult to move and may require additional input devices such as a monitor.
