Chromosomes

• Chromosomes are bundles of tightly packed DNA
• Chromosomes can either be replicated or unreplicated.
• The chromosomes arent visible except during cell division.
• At the beginning of cell division, the chrmosomes condense into compact, visible structures that are easily seen within a microscope.
• At the beginning of cell division, each chromosome consists of two identical "sister chromotids".
• These chromosome are connected at an area called the centromere.
• Chromosomes cane be replicated or unreplicated
