  • Research always starts with a problem. The problem enables the researcher to draft the most appropriate research design, the most fitting method, and the most appropriate treatment for the collected data.
  • Research topic

A broad subject matter. It embraces everything, including the background of the problem. It considers the following in identifying and select the topic:
    • Relevance
    • Interest Manageability
    • Availability of Resources
  • Research Problem

The controversy. The main concern of the general prevailing issue (research gap) that you want to address.
  • Research Purpose
The reason or the significance, for conducting the study. It fuels the research itself. The purpose reflects the over-all result of the study, whether you meet your aims or not.
  • Research Questions

They set the sail of a study. It helps ensure that your method makes your research measurable.
  • Research Process
    1. Define the research problem.
    2. Review of the Literature
    3. Formulate Hypothesis
    4. Prepare the research design
    5. Data Collection
    6. Analyze Data
    7. Interpret and report the findings.
    1. Define the research problem
To begin your research, you must look at a significant real-life problem.
  • 2. Review the literature
Read various publications or surf the internet to become aware of the previous works already done about the chosen topic.
  • 3. Formulate hypothesis
a hypothesis is a theoretical statement in solving a logical relationship between variables. It should be based on the problem being solved.
  • 4. Prepare the research design
Identify what is the best means to collect and analyze data in the study to clarify and improve the research problem, purpose, and questions.
  • 5. Data Collection
Use an appropriate data collection method to elicit the needed information.
  • 6. Analyze Data
Utilize strategies and methods that make sense of the data to answer the research problem
  • 7. Interpret and report the findings
Put the information in perspective and present the solution to the proposed problem based on the findings of the investigation.
  • Research topic
A subject a person wants to learn about. A well-defined research topic is the starting point of every
    successful research project.
  • Research Guidelines
    1. Cross of any question you don’t find interesting.
    2. Cross off any questions that you don’t have available resources.
    3. Think about the research purpose—knowing the purpose of your research wil help you decide which question is best.
  • Close-ended questions

These are questions that require a short answer or can be answered with yes or no.
  • Open-ended questions
These questions require more than a simple answer. They allow a variety of answers and encourage discussions and elaboration.
  • Steps in choosing a research topic
1.Choose a general topic that interests you.
    2. Write down questions about that topic.
    3. Narrow down your topic to make it manageable.
    4. Determine the purpose of your research topic.
    5. Revise and refine your research topic as needed.
