Forces and motion

Cards (7)

  • Newtons First Law : An object will remain stationary or at a constant velocity unless acted upon by an external force
  • Newtons Third Law : When two objects interact, the forces they exert on each other are equal and opposite
  • Vectors have a magnitude (size) and direction
    e.g acceleration
  • Scalars are quantities with a magnitude (size) only, no direction
    e.g temperature
  • Force = spring constant x compression
  • Weight = mass x gravitational field strength
  • Work done = Force x distance moved
