  • sender - is the party that sends a message and initiates a conversation.
  • encoding - is the transformation of thoughts of the information to be conveyed into a form that can be sent, such as words.
  • message - is the information that the sender is relaying to the receiver.
  • channel - is the manner in which the message is sent, it can be in verbal or non-verbal form.
  • noise - is anything that interferes with the interpretation of a message.
  • decoding - means mentally processing the message into understanding.
  • receiver - is the party that receives the message from the sender, or the person who
    decodes the message.
  • feedback - is a message sent by the receiver back to the sender.
  • 4 TYPES OF NOISE
    • physical noise
    • semantic noise
    • physiological noise
    • psychological noise
  • Physical noise - environmental sounds : others talking in the background, raining sounds, thunderstorms, barking dog.
  • Semantic noise - interferes with the interpretation of the message due to ambiguity in words : jargon, mispronunciation, grammatical.
  • Physiological noise - it manifests from the inside of either the receiver or sender of the message and is caused by a physiological process : headaches, feeling ill, hunger, room is too cold or too hot.
  • Psychological noise - occurs when emotions interfere with the receiver's interpretation of a message.
