    Dislocation, or luxation, is a painful displacement of articulating bones that temporarily deforms and immobilizes the joint. Subluxation is less severe, as it is only an incomplete dislocation.
  • Luxation is the loss of bony contact on surfaces, a full dislocation
  • Subluxation is the lost part of bone contact, a partial dislocation
