Michelanglo's creation

• Michelanglo Buonarroti (1475 - 1564) is one of the most famous Renaissance artists
• He was noticed by the Pope
• He made a name for himself in Italy as a sculpture
• Later on, he was commisioned to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the vatican in Rome
• It took him 4 years to complete
• Michelanglo decorated the ceiling with four different scenes, but the creation of Adam is probably the most famous
• It portrays various ideas about the nature of God and nature of God and nature of humans.
• It shows humans are dependant on God and have have a speical relationship with God
• In the image adam represents all of humanity
