What is a Custom?
Traditional and regular norms of behaviour associated with specific situations, events and anniversaries which are often accompanied by rituals and ceremonies. E.g Bonfire night

The differences in norms, values, customs and traditions between different societies

Breaking social norms/failure to conform to social norms and behaviour which goes against the dominant norms of the specific society or groups.

A social reaction of approval or disapproval in response to someone's actions.

Social groups that may be based on class ,age religion and ethnicity ,lifestyles and tastes that subscribe to norms and values of mainstream society in most respects ,but also hold other values ,norms ,customs that are unique to them
What is deviance
.failure to conform to social norms and behaviours which goes against the dominant norms of the specific society of groups
Hat is formal control
Deliberate training of people to follow rules which are usually written down and if broken ,people can expect punishment (formal sanctions)
What are formal sanctions
If Written down rules are broken down people expect punishment eg murder may expect prison as punishment
What is informal control
.following unwritten rules that are less obvious yet equally important
What are informal sanctions
.someone who has less obvious sanctions than formal
