UNs Women‘s Second Chance Education program - Funded by PRADAN (Professional Assistance for Development Action)
Second chance had a budget of $4,501,611 from 2018-23 and reached out to over 60000 women across 4 states in India = impacted 30000 women through education, upskilling and entrepreneurship opportunities
As of 2021, 1863 women started their own business which was up from the 2020 figure of 1155
It enrolled 3863 women and girls in formal education, 65% of whom have completed secondary and higher education
Provided skill training to 4319 women of whom 3737 have compensated their training and 1407 are now employed
Taught 8252 women farmers new techniques to improve their crop yield and 60% of them are set to earn an additional annual income of $300 dollars
