• FLIGHT - Funding Learning Initiative for Girls in Higher education and Skills training
• FLIGHT operates across 5 districts in Maharashtra (mainly Mumbai) to enhance employability skills
• FLIGHT works in partnership with the government and government supported colleges - and government industrial training institutions (ITIs)
• FLIGHT is supported by the department of higher education and has a budget of $336,213 from 2021-24 aiming to connect 750 women from marginalised backgrounds
• UNs Women‘s Second Chance Education program - Funded by PRADAN (Professional Assistance for Development Action)
• Second chance had a budget of $4,501,611 from 2018-23 and reached out to over 60000 women across 4 states in India = impacted 30000 women through education, upskilling and entrepreneurship opportunities
• As of 2021, 1863 women started their own business which was up from the 2020 figure of 1155
• It enrolled 3863 women and girls in formal education, 65% of whom have completed secondary and higher education
• Provided skill training to 4319 women of whom 3737 have compensated their training and 1407 are now employed
• Taught 8252 women farmers new techniques to improve their crop yield and 60% of them are set to earn an additional annual income of $300 dollars
