protein is synthesised in rough ER and a vesicle pinches off and transports it to the golgi body. golgi body may modify the protein- adding a carbohydrate chain to make a glycoprotein- it process and packages the protein into another vesicle where it travels to the plasma membrane. the vesicle fuses with the membrane and the protein is secreted outside the cell
