A person’s religion seems to be the most important determining factor in deciding which side a person who support in this war. Very few of these men had some military training
Parliament had South East and this gave them access to resources of iron, cloth, leather needed to supply an army
It also gave them control over the most populous parts of the country and the major towns
East Anglia and London were the most economically important areas in the country
Parliament also had control of the ports and the navy. This was significant to prevent foreign invasion of royalist support and they were economically important areas
Parliament had the resources to sustain a long war
