kagan (1984) suggest that the temperament is actually what leads to the different attachment types
Babies with an easy temperament ( those who eat/ sleep regularly and accept new experiences) are likely to be secure
Babies with a slow to warm up temperament ( those who take a while to get used to new experiences ) are likely to be insecure avoidant
Babies with ‘difficult‘ temperaments (those who eat/ sleep irregularly and who reject new experiences) are likely to have insecure resistant
This would argue that a child’s attachment type is a result of a combination of factors both the child’s innatetemperament and their parents sensitivity towards their needs
