      • no equality in state schools e.g. sets
      • skills are useless for the economy
      • private schools are better as they are answerable to parents
    • evaluation of the new right theory
      middle class benefit from marketisation - Gewirtz and ball
      the working class go to local schools which could be failing
      middle class shave the money to pay for the private schools transport
      middle class shave a selection by mortgage as they can move near to a better school
      w/c may not have the internet to look at league tables and Ofsted reports
      cultural deprivation - cant understand things
      parents do not have much control or choice
      schools have the ultimate choice
      lack of funding
