  • check ph of the water by adding a drip on universal indicator paper if it turns green the ph is 7
  • then you check for dissovled solids

  1. weigh an empty evaporating basin
  2. fill the basin with a sample
  3. evaporate the water
  4. reweigh
  5. if the mass increased its impure

  • there may be dissolved gases
