L30 - Kinetics Review Lecture

• Valid = measures what you want to measure
• Reliable = get same measurement every time
• If is reliable & valid should get accurate & precise measurements
• The outcome of interest will determine what equiptment you use to measure
• Kinematics = the study of the forces that cause movement, about forces

  • (energy, impact, injury, measurement of force traces, the cause of movement)
  • Done by using force platforms
• Kinetics = the study of movement, describes movement

  • (pattern, ROM of joints, quality)
  • Looking at drag, momentum-impulse etc
  • Done my using markers & recording videos
