Marxists are critical of the role that the family plays in supporting capitalism
Marxists believe that the function of the family is to support the needs of the rich (the bourgeoisie)
Marxists are critical of the nuclear family and its role in maintaining the capitalist system
They argue that the nuclear family recreates inequalities between social classes overtime (eg the rich can pass on wealth to next generation)
Through socialisation within family, working class children learn to accept their lower position in an unequal society and see the system as fair
