• 1. use the corer or knife to cut the potato
• 2) use a ruler to ensure the pieces are all the same size
• 3) record the mass of each potato
• 4) place each piece of potato into different concentrations of salt solution (ranging from 0% salt (distilled water) to 10% salt)
• 5) leave the potatoes for at least 10 minutes
• 6) remove the potatoes from the solutions
• 7) gently dab at the potatoes to remove any surface moisture
• 8) record the new mass of each potato
• 9) calculate the change in mass
• 10) calculate the percentage change in mass
