TLE 8 LESSON1

Cards (25)

  • Hand Tools - manipulated by hands without using electrical energy
  • Screw Drivers - used to loosen or tighten screws with slotted heads
  • Screw Drivers: Standard /Flat Screwdriver - blade tip is wedge-shaped and resembles a negative sign. used to drive screws with a single slot head
  • Screwdrivers: Philips Screwdriver - has a cross tip resembling a positive sign. used to drive screws with slot heads
  • Screwdrivers: Wrench - could be in the shape of a screwdriver or a wrench. its function is to drive screw with hexagonal slot head
  • Hammers - tools used in driving or pounding and pulling out nails. made of hard steel, wood, plastic or rubber
  • Three Types of Hammers
    • Claw
    • Mallet
    • Ball peen
  • Pliers - used for cutting, twisting, bending, holding, and gripping wires and cables
  • Pliers: Combination Pliers (Lineman's Pliers) - used for gripping, holding, and cutting electrical wires, cables, and even small nails
  • Pliers: Side Cutting Pliers - type of pliers is used for cutting fine, medium, and big wires and cables
  • Pliers: Long Nose Pliers - can reach tight space or small opening where other pliers cannot reach and also used in making terminal loops of copper wires
  • Wire Strippers - tool used for removing insulation of medium sized wires
  • Machine / Power Tools - tools manipulated by our hands and with the use of electrical energy
  • Portable Electric Drill - small drilling machine. used in making holes on metal sheets and concrete walls
  • Grinding Wheel - either have a grinding wheel, view wheel, or two grinding
  • Pneumatic Tools - tools or instruments activated by air pressure
  • Torque Wrench - uses compressed air to quickly and powerfully turn nuts, bolts, and other objects
  • Air Drill - lighter than a comparable electric drill, repeatedly stalling or overloading does not damage or overheat this drill
  • Measuring Tools - finding the measurements of the given objects
  • Test Light - pocket size tool used to test the line wire or circuit if there is current in it
  • Wire Gauge - used in determining the size of wires/conductors. ranges from 0 to 60 AWG (American Wire Gauge)
  • AWG - American Wire Gauge ; the larger the number, the smaller the wite diameter and thickness
  • Ruler/Foot Rule - measuring tool used to measure length, width, and thickness of short flat object and in sketching straight lines
  • Pull-Push Rule - measuring tool used to measure the length of an object in centimeter and inches
  • Volt-Ohmmeter (VOM) - called as a Multi-tester , used to measure the voltage, resistance and current of a circuit
