    • In 1936, Hitler ordered German troops to march back into the Rhineland
    • The remilitarisation of the Rhineland would protect the border and Germany from any French attempts to block foreign policy aims
    • This was successful, making Hitler more confident that Britain and France would not prevent him achieving his other foreign policy goals
