    • Group 0 metals are noble gases
    • They have full outer shells - two electrons in helium, eight in the rest
    • They do not need to gain or lose electrons to become stable
    • This means they’re inert - don’t react alot
    • They are monatomic gases - single atoms not bonded to each other
    • Colourless at room temperature
    • non flammable
  • Trends: going down the group
    • Boiling points increase - due to increase in number of electrons in each atom, greater intermolecular forces needed to overcome
    • Relative atomic mass increases
