postmodernity is characterised by choice regarding identity, religion etc. and it is dominated by the media

truth is relative. truth is not fixed and universal, it is whatever individuals say it is
in postmodernity class is no longer the most important aspect of identity. sexuality, ethnicity, age etc. are seen as equally important to postmodernists
they believe that the Marxist theory of education is outdated because production is now based on 'flexible specialisation'. they see the education system as moving towards being customised for the individual
