  • Hippocratic Collection of books was used to train doctors for hundreds of years
    This was significant because they provided the first detailed account of symptoms and treatments
  • Believed that diet and rest were hugely important to a patients recovery
  • believed in the use of opposites and doctors still take the Hippocratic Oath which is when doctors swear to do the best for their patient
  • Believed in natural causes and rejected the idea that disease was sent from God which led to the idea of humourism
