  • Life expectancy was very low and your chances on surviving an illness was depended on who you were and what treatment you received
  • Rich were more likely to afford medical treatment
  • famine and war were main killers. A bad harvest due to bad weather or floods mean malnourishment for many meaning many people could catch disease
  • Many people died from dysentery, typhoid, smallpox and measles. There was an estimate of 10 percent of England's population died from these diseases in the early 14th century.
