  • Behaviourist: all behaviour is learnt animals and humans learn the same. The mind is irrelevant
  • SLT: we learn directly though observations and indirectly through vicarious reinforcement
  • Cognitive: we are like a computer, the focus is on mental processes
  • Biological: behaviour is caused by hormones, genetics, evolution and the CNS
  • Psychodynamic: our childhood experiences influence our behaviour unconsciously. We have innate drives and motivations
  • Humanistic: an individual should be seen as a whole and are driven to their full potential. Consider feelings and choices
