Electrolysis of Aqueous Solutions

Cards (3)

  • Products when you electrolyse Sodium Chloride (brine):
    • Chlorine
    • Hydrogen
    • Sodium Hydroxide in the solution
  • Hydrogen is produced at the Cathode from water breaknig down as positive attracts the negative
  • Chlorine is produced at the anode as their negative charge is attracted to the anode. They will then lose an electron and bond with another Cl atom
