  • A POLITICAL SYSTEM MEANS THE FORM OF POLITICAL ORGANIZATION THAT CAN BE OBSERVED, RECOGNISED, OR OTHERWISE DECLARED BY A SOCIETY OR STATE. IT DEFINES THE PROCESS FOR MAKING OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT DECISIONS. THERE ARE FIVE (5) TYPES OF POLITICAL SYSTEM

  • Democracy
    a system of a government in which power is vested in the people, typically through elected representatives. 
  • Authoritarianism
    a political system characterized by the rejection of political plurality, the use of strong central power to preserve the political status quo, and reductions in democracy, separation of powers, civil liberties, and the rule of law. In authoritarian regimes, power is typically concentrated in the hands of a single leader or a small elite group.

  • Totalitarianism
    a political system that is characterized by centralized control, typically under single party or leader that seeks to dominate every aspect of public and private life

  • Monarchy
    Are one of the oldest forms of governance, where a single individual, typically a king or queen, serves as the head of state. Monarchies can vary greatly in structure, ranging from absolute monarchies to constitutional one. Although their prevalence has diminished over time, many monarchies still exist today, playing important roles in the cultural, political, and social fabrics of their countries.
  • Constitutional
    A constitutional monarchy limits the powers of the monarch through a constitution or legal framework. The monarch's role is largely ceremonial, while an elected body governs the country.
  • Elective
    In an elective monarchy, the monarch is chosen by a vote, usually among a small group of elite rulers or nobles.
  • Parliament
    a type of political structure where the government is closely linked to the parliament. In this system, the executive branch, which includes the Prime Minister and the cabinet, is chosen by the legislative branch (parliament) and is directly accountable to it.
  • Absolute
    In an absolute monarchy, the monarch holds almost complete control over the government and decision-making process. There are no legal limits to their authority, and they can implement laws unilaterally.
  • Chief Minister
    the leader of the executive branch and is elected by the Bangsamoro Parliament from among its members.
  • Deputy chief minister
    Are usually two, representing the mainland and the island provinces of BARMM.
  • Cabinet Ministers
    Are appointed by the Chief Minister, usually from among the members of the Bangsamoro Parliament. These ministers head various ministries such as health, education, finance, and social welfare.
  • Wali (ceremonial head of state)

    Serves as the ceremonial head of state in BARMM. This position is symbolic, with no governing power.
