  • Personal knowledge
    Knowledge acquired as we experience the world
  • Practical knowledge
    Also known as procedural knowledge, the type of knowledge we practice, those related to motor function
  • Propositional knowledge
    Type of knowledge that makes a claim, proposes something to be true
  • Criteria for a certain proposition to be considered "true"

    1. belief - one must have faith that his claim is true
    2. truth - the reality may counter our belief
    3. justification - what completed the nature of knowledge itself
  • Logic
    Branch of philosophy that focuses on human mind
  • Simple apprehension
    First logical process of mind; grasping idea into the mind. Being able to hold a certain concept in one's mind.
  • Judgment
    Second logical process of the mind; to connect one idea to another which results to proposition
  • Reasoning
    The third logical process; collects propositions to prove that something is true
  • Syllogism
    Central topic of reasoning. Form of argument that attempts to prove claims of proposition
  • Hierarchy of beings
    Vegetative state, sentient beings, rational being
