  mean

  median

  mode
• mean - add it up and divide by how many there are

  usually chosen when there are no anomalies or extreme values as it takes every data point into account
• median - put data in order and select the middle number

  chosen when there are anomalies or extreme values
• mode - most frequent data

  chosen when you have nominal data
• central tendency tries to find a central value, most representative of the data as a whole
