Allotrope: each of two or more different physical forms in which an element can exist. Ex:) Graphite, charcoal, and diamond are all allotropes of carbon.
Metals: shiny, malleable(bendable), ductile(can turn into wires), lose electrons when bonding, conduct heat and electricity.
Nonmetals: dull, brittle when solid, non conductors of heat and electricity, gain electrons when bonding.
Metalloids: somewhere between metal and nonmetal, can be shiny or dull, and are somewhat(moderately) conductive.
Alkali Metals: highly reactive, 1 valence electron, quickly oxidizes in air, forms stronger bases.
