• External Genitalia - the female reproductive structures that are located external to the vagina

• What are the external genitalia?

  Mons Pubis, Labia, Clitoris, Urethral Orifice, Vaginal Orifice, Greater Vestibular Glands
• Mons Pubis - "mountain on the pubis"
• Mons Pubis - a fatty, rounded area overlying the pubis symphysis
• Labia Majora - elongated hair-covered skin folds
• Labia Minora - a delicate, hair-free skin folds
• Vestibule - contains the external openings of the urethra
• Clitoris - a small, protruding structure that corresponds to the male penis
• Clitoris - it is hooded by a prepuce and is composed of sensitive erectile tissue that becomes swollen with blood during sexual excitement
• Greater Vestibular Gland - a pair of mucus-producing glands; their secretion lubricates the distal end of the vagina during intercourse
• Perineum - the diamond-shaped region between the anterior end of the labial folds, the anus posteriorly, and the ischial tuberosities laterally
