SEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS

• • Contraception - Use of methods to prevent pregnancy generally permissible in Islam teachings, reasons that are permissible are family planning, health reasons etc
• • Adultery (zina in arabic) - Quran says its a major sin and leads to severe punishment in after life
• • Celibacy (remaining unmarried) - Islam prefers marriage but is not forbidden
• • Cohabitation (living together being unmarried) - this is strictly forbidden in Islam, marriage is the only legitimate way
• • Civil partnership - not considered a valid marriage in Islam
• • Premarital sex - strictly forbidden is Islam and considered a major sin
• • Same sex marriage - many Muslims are against same-sex marriage as they believe homosexuality is forbidden in Islam and the Quran
  • Islam teaches marriage is a union between a man and a woman, it is not considered permissible in Islam
