• community is the number of all species living in a certain place
• habitat is the place where a type of organism lives
• ecosystem is the place where a group of populations live, interacting with eachother
• biotic factor: all living things that could influence an ecosystem

  abiotic factor: all non-living things that could influence an ecosystem
• biodiversity is the variety of in an area. this make sure ecosystems are stable
• a quadrat is a square frame enclosing a certain area (chosen randomly or systematically)
