Religious Diversity

• Bruce: Practical relativism - acceptance of the view that others can hold beliefs different to one's own
• Lynd and Lynd 1924: 1924 - 94% agree 'Christianity is the one true religion and all people should be converted to it'. By 1977 only 41% agreed
• The counter part to practical relativism is the erosion of absolutism - we now live in a society where there are so many views that undermines our view that our views are completely true
