    moral values/ facts are part of the natural world (fact naturalism). we can study morality through using the same methods in science by observing the natural world (a posteriori knowledge) (empirical evidence)> the morality to facts about natural world rather than something subjective or supernatural

    believing that moral truths can be discovered by observation of the world, right and wrong can be established by looking at the world. it is a moral realist theory which means moral truths/facts actually exist. it is also cognitivist- statements about right or wrong are subjected to being true or false
