• New Right believes the main cause behind all of societies issues is single families
• 90% of single families are headed by women
• The New Right is supported by the Conservative party and Republican party
• New Right believes the single family causes the breakdown of traditional values
• The New Right prefers the nuclear family
• It is believed the reason the New Right prefers the nuclear family is it fits with the Christian, European, Middle class ideals
• Almond believes Government policies have lead to the fragmenting of the family
• Examples of policies that have cause the fragmenting of the family (Almond) are; Divorce Reform Act, Civil Partnerships and Tax Allowances
• Tax Allowance is an issue to the New Right as it promotes a dual earner family as an insentive for less tax
• The New Right believes there is two solutions for the fragmenting of the family; Return to traditional family and change to Government policy
• Murray says that single parents are the single biggest issue in society
• Murray perceives young girls as the most disruptive in society as they will try to get pregnant
• Murray believes the main issue of single parents is their reliance on the welfare state
• Murray believes the welfare state provides incentives for people to be disruptive in society
• Examples of a welfare state providing incentives, include Prison, council housing, free childcare (school), and free healthcare
