      Positive: shows desirable characteristics for normality not the negative for abnormality. (Holistic approach).
      Can be used for self assessment to get help or find interventions to improve your mental health. (Targets areas of dysfunction)
    • Weaknesses of DIMH 

      Subjective: characteristics are vague as well as difficult to measure accurately.
      Difficult to be of perfect, ideal, mental health- suggests everyone is abnormal.
      Not everyone can relate to the criteri, individual potential isn’t desirable in all cultures.
