  • The elements of a story is a fundamental component that make up a narrative or work of fiction
  • Settings is the time and place where the story occurs
  • Setting establishes the context for the events and helps create the story's atmosphere
  • Character are the individual/entities that populate the story. They have distinct characteristics/personalities, motivation, and role
  • Plot is the sequence of event that make up the story
  • Parts of the plot include the exposition, inciting incident, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.
  • Exposition is the beginning of the story. This is where the author introduces the settings, character, and the initial situation or conflict
  • Inciting Incident is an event or circumstances that disrupt the normal life of the protagonist and sets the story in motion. This is consider as the beginning of central problem.
  • Rising action involves series of event and complication that build upon the inciting incident. It is going towards the central conflict.
  • Climax is the story's turning point. This represent the moment of greatest tension and emotional intensity.
  • Falling action is where the story begins to wind down. This is the event that occur as a result to the climax.
  • Resolution (denouement) is the final part of the plot. The central conflict is fully addressed and resolves and shows the outcome of the story.
  • Conflict is the central struggle or problem that drives the plot and create tension of the story.
  • Internal struggle- within the character's mind
  • External struggle- involves the surroundings of the character
  • Theme is the central idea or message that the story convey.It often explore universal truth, moral dilemmas, or human experiences.
  • Point of view (POV) is the perspective from which the story is narrated.
  • Limited point of view- narrator knows the thought and feeling of one character
  • Omniscient point of view- narrator knows the thought and feeling of multiple character
  • Tone is the author's attitude or emotional disposition towards the subject matter or character in the story. It also sets the story's mood
  • Symbolism involves the use of symbols or objects to respect abstract ideas.
  • Dialogue is the conversation between the characters in the story. Adding this reveals the trait of a character
  • Mood is the motional atmosphere or feeling by the story. It is influenced by elements such as the setting, tone, and imagery.
  • Style encompasses the author's unique writting tone and the way they express ideas.
