Effect of Light Intensity

    Cards (3)

    • Three processes involve light: Absorbed by photosynthetic pigments and used to excite electrons in chlorophyll a, it is transduced to chemical energy (ATP) in chloroplasts and is needed for water photolysis (release protons)
    • Explain: Light intensity initial increase, increases photosynthesis and photophosphorylation rate; so more ATP and NADPH is produced, more GP can be reduced to TP in Calvin cycle, producing more glucose
