    A simple and flexible format of presenting information or conveying ideas whether handwritten, printed, for displayed on screen.
  • A text is any "human readable sequence of characters" that can form intelligible words

    It serves as a link to different electronic documents and enable users to jump from one to another in a nonlinear way

    Also called font, font type, or type. It refers to the representation or style of a text in the digital format. It usually comprises of alphabets, numbers, punctuation marks, symbols, other special characters

    It connotes formality and readability, it is usually used for body of text, it gives a classic or elegant look when used for title or heading
  • Sans serif typeface

    It brings a clean or minimalist look of the text, it is used for clear and direct meaning of text, it gives a modern look and is used primarily in web page design
  • Script tyepface

    It draws much attention to itself because of its brush like strokes. It must be used sparingly and not be used in a large body of text. This usually used in wedding invitation cards or other formal events

    It carries a solid or heavy look to text, can be used for large advertising

    The caters to a wide variety of emotions or themes

    importance or value given to a part of text-based content. Used to make a point or highlight a message

    refers to how fitting or suitable the text is used for a specific audience, purpose or event

    refers to how near or how far are the text elements from each other. when two things are closely related, we bring them close together
  • Alignment
    refers to how the text is positioned in the page
  • Organization
    refers to a conscious effort to organize the different text elements in a page. ensures that while some text elements are separated from each other, they are still somehow connected with the rest of rhe lements in the page
  • Repetition
    concerns consistency of elements and the unity of the entire design. encourages the use of repeating some typefaces within the pagae.
  • Contrast
    Creates visual interest to text elements. Achieved when two elements are different from each other
