  • What are ethical implications?

    Ethical guidance states that research should be free from deception, should gather informed consent, protect people from harm etc.
  • What is socially sensitive research?

    Research that enforces or changes how groups or individuals could be perceived and treated by findings/conclusions proposed.
  • Attachment ethical implications:
    • In Ainsworth's 'strange situation', infants are deliberately exposed to increasingly stressful situations
    • Today, there is ethical guidance which says animal suffering must be minimised, so animal studies now condemned
    • Bowlby stated that first & most important attachment is to the mother
    • Policies surrounding paid leave from work now apply to both parents regardless of gender.
