• Strength:

  • Case studies are able to offer rich and detailed insight to particular individuals who may display unusual or atypical behaviours which can potentially generate hypothesis for future studies 
• Limitation:

  • Case studies tend to have very low generalisability/ecological validity as the findings are from such small samples 
  • Risk of researcher bias
