  • Receptor in skin, detects changes in pressure applied to skin, oval-shaped structure consisting of concentric rings series of connective tissue wrapped around nerve cell end
  • Pressure change on skin will deform connective tissue rings, which push against nerve endings; only sensitive to change not continuous pressure (they will stop responding)
