Fungi

• These are organisms that can be either single celled or multicellular
• they don’t photosynthesis
• their body is usually organised into a mycelium made from thread like structures called hyphae which contain many nuclei
• others are made of chitin if they are single celled
• they feed by extracellular secretion of digestive enzymes onto food material
• this is known as saprotrophic nutrition, and they store carbohydrates as glycogen
