  -is a technique for quantifying (talling) qualitative data of various kinds.
• This is done by:

  1)Familiarising yourself with the text (or transcript).

  2)Establish codes and categories

  3)Tally how many time a category or code occurs in the text.
• Content analysis 


  -type of study which people study indirectly via communications/documents they have produced.

  -Can be conducted on any piece of qualitative data like interview transcript, social media post and a diary.

  -The aim is to summaries and describe this communication in a systematic way where conclusions can be drawn.

  -Qualitative data has been turned into quantitative data by using coding units.
