Youth Opposition

• The edelweiss pirates were mainly boys but also girls who opposed the Nazi party.

• The White Rose was made up of upper class rich university students from the university of Munich. It was led by Sophie and Hans Scholl
• The white rose distributed anti-nazi posters around the school and posted the leaflets to random houses
• The swing youth were wealthy middle class in large towns such as Berlin.
• The swing youth would wear American clothes and listen to American songs and films
• The swing youth would play american music imported illegally from Australia. They would also dance in groups, smoke and drink alcohol
• Illegal dances set up by the swing youth were attended by thousands of people
